Destination D23 has come to a close, wrapping up the celebration in true Disney fashion.

During the weekend, Disney unveiled an extensive lineup of upcoming projects from Marvel Studios, Pixar, Walt Disney Animation, Disney+, and also shared plans for Disney Parks, cruises, and special events.

Pixar had much to rejoice about, including the 30th anniversary of “Toy Story,” with a special theatrical re-release on September 12. This wasn’t the only exciting “Toy Story” news shared.

Fans got their first look at “Toy Story 5,” coming to theaters June 19, 2026.

“Zootopia 2,” scheduled for release on November 26, 2025, announced new cast members, with Patrick Warburton playing Mayor Winddancer and Yvette Nicole Brown as both EMT Otter and Baroness Bear.

Walt Disney Animation introduced a new original film, “Hexed,” set to premiere in November 2026. The story follows a teenage boy and his perfectionist mother as they discover his unusual behavior is magical, leading them to a realm where magic abounds.

“TRON: Ares,” set for release on October 10, 2025, will feature music by Nine Inch Nails. Beginning September 15, the TRON Lightcycle Run attractions in Florida and Shanghai will receive temporary re-theming in celebration of the film.

On Disney+, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw” will debut on December 5. Based on the third book in Jeff Kinney’s popular series, the animated movie follows Greg Heffley as he struggles with his father’s expectations and confronts a personal ultimatum.

The final day of Destination D23 brought plenty of celebration and nostalgia.

Fans were treated to a Disney Channel stars panel featuring familiar faces from across the years, a tribute to 80 years of “The Three Caballeros,” and a high-energy 80s and 90s concert to close out the weekend on a musical high note.

If you’re feeling the post-D23 blues, don’t worry D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event will return to Anaheim in August 2026.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Marvel Studios, Pixar and this ABC station.
