A dramatic incident unfolded at Disney World’s Indiana Jones stunt show on Tuesday when a massive boulder prop unexpectedly veered off its intended path, striking a cast member who attempted to stop its course.

Captured on video by a spectator, the heart-stopping moment during the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios quickly gained widespread attention online.

The video reveals a giant boulder emerging from backstage during the show’s temple sequence. It rolled down an elevated track, collided with a wall, and then unexpectedly bounced off the platform.

As the boulder barreled towards the audience, a quick-thinking staff member rushed forward, trying to intercept the runaway prop.

The brave cast member was knocked to the ground by the boulder’s impact, prompting other employees to quickly come to his aid. As he stood up, blood was noticeably visible on the back of his shaved head.

The prop ultimately ricocheted back toward the stage and away from the audience, where staff were able to safely recover it.

“We’re focused on supporting our cast member, who is recovering,” Disney said.

“Safety is at the heart of what we do, and that element of the show will be modified as our safety team completes a review of what happened.”
