A lawsuit filed in Maricopa County Superior Court accuses Avondale City Council member Jeannette Garcia of sexual harassment and false imprisonment after a workplace gathering tied to her role with Turning Point USA.

A lawsuit has been filed accusing Garcia, a supervisor at Turning Point, of making inappropriate propositions. The suit claims she offered a male coworker a job in return for sexual favors. When he declined, she allegedly took his 14-year-old daughter without permission and kept her overnight while under the influence of alcohol.

Court records reveal that Garcia and the plaintiff, referred to as John Doe, worked at Turning Point to support their chosen candidates in the 2024 elections. On November 14, 2024, Garcia, Doe, and other staff gathered at a restaurant in Goodyear to celebrate the election results.

The lawsuit alleges that during the gathering, Garcia made sexual advances towards Doe, including an offer of employment in exchange for sex. After Doe repeatedly refused these advances, he left the restaurant, only to later find out that his daughter, referred to as Minor Jane Doe, had gone missing.

Case No. CV2025-062070

Doe recounts that he searched for his daughter, eventually returning home after 1 a.m. and reaching out to her friends. Upon his return, he encountered deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, who informed him that his daughter was “safe” and in the company of Garcia and other Turning Point employees. The lawsuit and a CBS News report indicate that Garcia did not respond to multiple calls, and Doe was unable to reunite with his daughter until the following day.

The suit accuses Garcia of taking the girl from her home without consent while intoxicated, detaining her overnight, and causing her severe emotional distress. This trauma, as outlined in the lawsuit, continues to impact the teenager’s daily life and education.

The complaint also names Turning Point and other associated parties, including the Maricopa County sheriff’s office, alleging civil conspiracy, false imprisonment, and that deputies aided and abetted the alleged kidnapping. Defendants have not responded to the lawsuit in court, and the sheriff’s office and city declined to comment.

Garcia responded to the allegations in a social media post, stating that she was “aware of the outrageous and false accusations being made about me.” She added, “Let me be very clear: these claims are untrue. I have never kidnapped anyone, never harmed anyone, and never solicited anything inappropriate, ever.”

Garcia went on, saying that “the situation being referenced involved me helping a young girl” and called any contrary claims “intentional misinformation.” She said she intends to pursue legal action against those “responsible for spreading these lies.” Garcia vowed, “I will not allow false allegations to define my name or my work.”

The litigation is ongoing, with damaging allegations and official responses painting a picture of deep controversy within local government and affiliated political organizations. A CBS news segment has also covered the case and offers additional details from the court filings and involved parties.
