Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) sharply criticized Democratic Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed during Saturday’s edition of Fox News Channel’s “Saturday in America,” describing him as “essentially, a pro-Hamas candidate” and saying he is “not someone I could ever support.”

Fetterman also took aim at Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for campaigning on El-Sayed’s behalf. “Humble yourself, Bernie,” Fetterman said, arguing that Sanders had recently backed an “accused rapist” whose campaign “imploded up in Maine” and was now supporting someone he characterized as “anti-American and deeply anti-Israel.” Fetterman called El-Sayed “a socialist” who earned $700,000 last year, criticized his wife’s private medical practice for not accepting Medicaid, and labeled him “a phony.” He further pointed to El-Sayed’s involvement in the “no commitment” or “uncommitted” vote effort during the presidential campaign while Kamala Harris was running.
Continuing his criticism, Fetterman said El-Sayed had claimed “that Israel is as evil as Hamas,” adding, “That’s not someone I could ever support.”
