Florida woman on the run and wanted for murder relied on network of alleged accomplices to evade capture: Cops

A woman wanted in a murder investigation has managed to evade authorities for weeks, with law enforcement officials saying she has been aided by multiple suspected accomplices while remaining on the run.

Isabelle Rose Johnson, 38, is facing charges in connection with the killing of Jason Christopher Coulthart. Authorities issued a warrant for her arrest on June 26, and investigators say she has been avoiding capture since then.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office described Johnson as a “cunning master manipulator” and alleged that she has leaned on others to help conceal her whereabouts. So far, five people have been arrested as part of the murder investigation.

She has also allegedly used multiple aliases when interacting with people, including “Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, and Denise,” according to the sheriff’s office.

As for the man she is accused of killing, Coulthart’s remains were found on June 25, buried on a property in Freeport, located in Florida’s Panhandle.

Sheriff Michael Adkinson said, “Anyone found to have helped or is still assisting Isabelle Johnson avoid arrest will be charged accordingly.”

He went on to say, “If you give her a place to stay, help her hide, or lie for her, you will face consequences. This is a homicide case. We will not allow anyone to get in the way of this investigation.”

Multiple law enforcement organizations have come together to offer up a $16,000 reward for information that could lead to Johnson’s arrest.
