Ex-Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack arrested in Texas

Former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack faced arrest in Frisco, Texas, on Tuesday after allegedly discharging a firearm inside a residence, authorities reported. Jack is being charged with deadly conduct involving the discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony, as well as firing a weapon within certain municipalities, classified as a Class A misdemeanor.

According to the Frisco Police Department, officers were dispatched for a welfare check at a home located on the 2400 block of Haft River Road around 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday. Upon their arrival, officers reportedly heard gunshots emanating from within the house, as detailed in a police statement.

In response to the situation, law enforcement quickly established a perimeter around the area and evacuated nearby homes to ensure residents’ safety.

Subsequently, officers witnessed Jack breaking through and exiting via a second-story window, resulting in his fall to the ground. He was promptly detained at 7:12 a.m. and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for injuries sustained during the fall, which were deemed non-life-threatening, police confirmed.

After a thorough search of the premises, police noted that no additional individuals were present inside the home.

No one else was found inside the home when officers conducted a search, FPD said.

Jack faces charges of deadly conduct – discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony, and discharge of a firearm in certain municipalities, a Class A misdemeanor.

The 30-year-old played for the Jaguars from 2016 through 2021, and for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 and 2023.
