Authorities in Nassau County said the victim gave birth to two children, first at age 16 and again at age 18.
YULEE, Fla. — A Georgia man has been arrested following a multi-agency investigation that authorities say found he impregnated a minor on two separate occasions.
According to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation into 33-year-old John Andrew Jones of Jesup, Georgia, began on June 7, 2024. Deputies said an assistant state attorney alerted law enforcement to an alleged sexual battery case involving a victim who was under 16 years old.
As detectives looked into the allegations, they determined that Jones had been involved in an ongoing relationship with the victim, with investigators saying the relationship dated back to 2020.
Investigators said the victim became pregnant twice during that time — once at age 15 and again at age 17 — and later gave birth at ages 16 and 18.
In March 2026, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirmed through a laboratory report that Jones was the biological father of the children. Authorities said the finding was based on DNA samples collected by police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Nassau County deputies arrested Jones on Tuesday, July 7. He is charged with child abuse and impregnating a child under the age of 16. His bond was set at more than $250,000.

Court records also show that Jones had previously been arrested in May 2024 on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
