Fans tuning into the 2026 Grammys in hopes of seeing Taylor Swift will be left with a blank space on Sunday.
Speculation has been swirling about a possible Grammy Awards appearance by the “Life of a Showgirl” artist, but Executive Producer Ben Winston has put those rumors to rest.
When approached by the music industry publication HITS about the likelihood of Swift performing or even showing up at the event, Winston made his stance crystal clear.
“The only reason anyone thinks Taylor might be involved is because HITS published it this week and added it to their HITS List, which then went viral,” he explained. “But HITS completely fabricated that story.”
Winston found it ironic that he was being questioned by the same outlet that sparked the rumors, calling it “a full-circle rumor.”
“Now here I am, being asked about it by you, as if it’s legitimate, when it was invented in your office!” he remarked.
The 14-time Grammy awardee’s absence from this year’s nominations is due to the fact that “The Life of a Showgirl” did not meet the eligibility period. While her attendance remains uncertain, Winston’s comments suggest it’s improbable.
Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, Leon Thomas, SOMBR and the Marías are among the artists set to take the stage during Sunday’s ceremony, airing live at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
