Brandon Clarke, a forward for the Memphis Grizzlies, has left his fiancée, Amber Lorraine, heartbroken. In a poignant tribute, Lorraine shared their plans to marry before Clarke’s untimely death.
“Words can’t capture this feeling,” Lorraine expressed in a moving Instagram post on Sunday, accompanied by a collection of their cherished photos.
“I never imagined facing life without you,” she wrote, describing Clarke as “the most extraordinary person with the kindest heart.”
“The day you proposed was the happiest of my life. We were on the brink of marriage and dreaming of starting a family,” Lorraine continued.
Reflecting on their time together, Lorraine reminisced about missing everything from his “funny jokes” to their heartfelt talks, beloved breakfasts, and evenings spent watching “Harry Potter.”
“All I want is to hold and kiss you,” she shared. “The world feels different without you.”
Clarke, 29, a forward in his seventh season, died last week after paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical emergency at a San Fernando Valley home just after 5 p.m. Monday, according to reports.
Authorities reportedly found drug paraphernalia inside the residence, and his death is being investigated as a possible overdose pending autopsy results.
Clarke was due in court the same week he died for a drug possession case.
âWe are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Brandon Clarke,â the Grizzlies said in a statement.
âBrandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten.â
The sudden loss sent shockwaves through the basketball world as loved ones continue mourning the beloved playerâs untimely death.
