Indiana substitute teacher Cassidy Carter pleads guilty to sending student nudes

An Indiana substitute teacher accused of sending nude images of herself to a 14-year-old middle school student has been sentenced to two years in jail.

Cassidy Carter received the sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, according to WXIX-TV.

The judge also credited Carter with two days already served.

Carter had initially faced one count of child solicitation in connection with the case.

Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens said the charge was changed after the victim moved out of the area and no longer wanted to participate in the proceedings.

Authorities said Carter, who was 21 at the time, sent the images to the teenager while working as a substitute teacher for the South Dearborn Community School Corporation.

Court records show the unidentified student reported the matter to a school resource officer in December 2023, and the officer then notified the principal.

The teen told officials he had become friends with Carter through Snapchat.

During their conversations online, Carter sent the teen nude photos of herself every time she took a shower, often late at night, authorities said.

She also allegedly told him that she was in love with him.

Investigators found the photos on Carter’s phone, along with several messages, prosecutors said.
