Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, sustained a minor leg injury while attempting to evade an Israeli aerial attack last month, as reported by Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency.

The alleged incident is said to have occurred on June 16 at a secure government facility situated in Western Tehran, where President Pezeshkian was meeting with top-ranking officials, according to the outlet controlled by Iran’s influential Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Reports suggest six bombs or missiles aimed at obstructing entry and exit points to prevent the building’s evacuation and disturb the air circulation within. The blasts also resulted in a power outage on the targeted floor, the report detailed.

The officials escaped through an emergency hatch, according to the report. Pezeshkian and several others reportedly suffered minor leg injuries during the escape.

The alleged strike was said to have happened on the fourth day of the 12-day war between Israel and Iran. 

Israel has said its military targeted some of Iran’s top military leaders and nuclear scientists in a series of air strikes aimed at preventing the regime from realizing its goal of producing nuclear weapons.

On June 22, the U.S. launched its own stealth strike on three of Iran’s key nuclear enrichment sites. The 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran ended with a U.S.-brokered cease-fire.
