During Thursday’s airing of “Katie Pavlich Tonight” on NewsNation, Michael Leiter, the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, highlighted a pressing concern regarding Iran’s nuclear capabilities. He stated that Iran currently possesses 1,700 centrifuges that are capable of producing enriched material on very short notice. According to Leiter, these centrifuges “must be dismantled or, at the very least, rendered completely unable to be reassembled.”
Leiter elaborated on the matter, suggesting that the ideal outcome would involve Iran opening its facilities to international scrutiny as part of any agreement. This would allow experts and inspectors to verify the removal of all nuclear materials. He emphasized the urgency of the situation by noting that the centrifuges could potentially produce nuclear weapon material almost immediately. Therefore, dismantling them or ensuring they cannot be reactivated is crucial.
Additionally, Leiter expressed confidence in a potential diplomatic resolution, stating, “We’re very confident that if we reach a deal of this nature, it will lead to a full dismantling of Iran’s nuclear capabilities, rather than reverting to military actions.”
