HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES — She has an Oscar, a SAG award, an Emmy, a Tony nomination, and now, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On Thursday, actress Jessica Chastain was honored with a star, celebrating the occasion with her fans, family, and close friends, including two significant colleagues in her acting journey: Oscar winners Al Pacino and Viola Davis. The three of them share a strong passion for their art and have formed a deep connection through it.
“Jessica, you understand the task of being an artist,” Davis told Chastain during Thursday’s ceremony. “I love how you do what you do.”
Chastain won the Academy Award, SAG Award, and Critics Choice Award for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye.”
Chastain has been recognized with nominations from prestigious bodies for her performances, including the Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG for her role in Showtime’s “George & Tammy.” She was also nominated for a Tony Award and received a Drama Desk Award for her performance in “A Doll’s House” on Broadway.
She also got Oscar nominations for “The Help” and “Zero Dark Thirty.”
“As I stand before this star, I feel the weight and the incredible privilege of our work in Hollywood,” Chastain expressed. “To me, this star isn’t a final destination but a milestone, urging me to ‘keep going.’ Thanks to my friends, teachers, and collaborators, a once-shy and awkward drama student became a woman who believes in the power of storytelling to transform lives. I am truly honored and humbled, and I look forward with excitement to what we will create together next.”
Chastain is now working on the Apple TV+ series “The Savant,” which will see her as a star and a producer.
