Palmdale Street shooting on Jacksonville's Northwest side leaves man dead


A man sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Tuesday night, a man was shot while pursuing another driver following a collision on St. Johns Bluff Road, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Mitlyng of the JSO stated that officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of St. Johns Bluff Road South around 9 p.m. in response to the shooting incident.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered the victim with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, and his injuries were confirmed to be non-life-threatening.

Following the shooting, the suspect reportedly fled the scene.

Sgt. Mitlyng mentioned that detectives are actively searching the area for surveillance footage and potential witnesses. The identities of those involved in the incident have not yet been disclosed.
