Critics had a field day with former Vice President Kamala Harris after she criticized President Trump’s national address on Iran, an event she chose not to view.
In a video posted on X prior to Trump’s speech, Harris anticipated the president would attempt to “declare victory” regarding Iran. However, she emphasized the importance of observing his actions over his words, suggesting a disparity between the two.
“He’s dragged America into an unwanted conflict, endangering our troops and driving up costs, all while ignoring pressing domestic issues,” Harris remarked in the brief video clip.
She further mentioned her decision not to watch the address in real-time.
Conservatives seized on the video, using it as ammunition against the Biden administration.
Mark Meadows, who served as Trump’s chief of staff, dismissed Harris’ criticisms, attributing them to her ongoing political ambitions and potential plans to run for president in the future.
Republican Rep. Tom Emmer praised Trump for having “the guts” that the Biden administration sorely lacked.
“Itâs pretty disgraceful for you to claim President Trump has done nothing to meet the needs of the American people. Hereâs the truth: Heâs cleaning up the chaos YOU caused here in the United States and across the globe, and is making America great again,” Emmer wrote on X.
Radio host Larry O’Connor succinctly wrote, “Bullet dodged.”
Other laymen bemoaned about “what 4 years of this would have been like” as Harris finger-wagged her dejected audience.
White House spokesperson Anna Kelly teased that Harris “should listen to the overwhelming majority of Americans who want her to crawl under a coconut tree and go away” in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Trump’s address to the nation was aired on every major news network Wednesday evening. In the short-and-sweet speech, he boasted that Iran was all but “eviscerated” during the ongoing military campaign.
He alluded to more strikes in the coming weeks that will send Iran “back to the Stone Ages where they belong.”
