K'Andre Miller offers heartfelt goodbye to Rangers fans after trade

K’Andre Miller gave a heartfelt goodbye message to New York Rangers fans on Thursday.

The defenseman, traded to the Hurricanes earlier this offseason, made sure to thank everyone who helped him at his first stop of his career.

In the message, Miller addressed the many people who helped him during his time on the Rangers in an Instagram post.

“To the Rangers fans— I’ll forever cherish the roar of the crowd and the ‘Let’s Go Rangers’ chants that will always echo in my mind. Your passion is unmatched,” Miller began. “To the staff at MSG — thank you for always being a part of my journey, especially when entering and exiting the arena. Your dedication and support never went unnoticed.

“To the first responders around the Garden — thank you for keeping the Rangers family and our fans safe every day. Stay strong. To my teammates — thank you for your support and the lessons learned along the way. You made me a better player and person. Grateful.

“To the Rangers coaches, trainers, and support staff — thank you for teaching me, caring for me, and aiding my development. I’m truly grateful. To Chris Drury and Mr. Dolan — thank you for giving me my start and allowing me to fulfill my dream in the greatest arena in the world. Thank you.

“Peace out, NYC. Stay safe. Until we meet again.”

The Rangers selected Miller with the No. 22 pick of the 2018 draft. He made his NHL debut in the 2020-21 season, tallying his first point in his fourth career game against the Penguins.

Miller was also named to the All-Rookie team during his first season.

During his five-year tenure with the Rangers, Miller racked up 36 points and 96 assists, in 368 games.

Miller’s trade to Carolina comes after the Rangers traded away multiple defenseman during the 2024-25 season.

The Rangers will face the Hurricanes and Miller at home on Nov. 4.
