CHICAGO (WLS) — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that all outbound lanes were reopened on Sunday, marking significant progress in the nearly completed three-year Kennedy Reconstruction Project.

IDOT said all mainline lanes reopened on Sunday.
The grand news puts the project on pace to finish before the Thanksgiving deadline, IDOT said.
The reversible express lanes scheduled to resume “normal operations” by 5 a.m. on Monday.

ROAD CLOSUES | Chicago Avenue Bridge closes for reconstruction project
Work will continue through late October on a few outbound ramps:
-Wilson Avenue exit ramp from the expressway is schedule to close, Monday night, Oct. 6, for two weeks.
The westbound Ontario Street feeder ramp, which connects to the northbound Kennedy (both express and local lanes), is set to close on Monday, October 13, for around two weeks. A detour route will be available and signposted.
IDOT said motorists will be able to access the southbound Kennedy to the Dan Ryan Expressway (Interstate 90/94) from Ontario Street.
On Sunday, November 17, weather permitting, Ohio will be closed eastbound between the Kennedy and Orleans.
Starting Monday, November 18, Ontario will close westbound between Orleans and the Kennedy.
