Wacko was trapped in porta-potty tank for eight hours after trying to retrieve Mountain Dew

He went into a portable toilet for a Mountain Dew — and ended up in a mess no one will soon forget.

A man seen in a viral video being cut out of a porta-potty toilet bowl by Kansas City firefighters had reportedly been trapped inside the portable restroom for eight hours after climbing into the waste holding tank to recover a soda bottle he had dropped.

The man told officials he had been trying to retrieve his fallen Mountain Dew from inside the portable toilet when he somehow became fully stuck in the unit’s raw sewage tank, according to a representative for Patriot Portable Restrooms, the company that supplied the porta-johns for a World Cup event.

Patriot Portable Restrooms crews were conducting a routine inspection of the facilities and knocking on each porta-potty to confirm they were empty before towing them away, company partner Chip Counterman said in a video statement posted on X.

When workers found one unit locked and the person inside still would not come out after being given a 10-minute warning, an employee waved down a Kansas City police officer who happened to be passing by on a motorcycle.

The officer asked why the man had not exited the porta-potty. The unidentified man then gave a bizarre explanation, saying “he could not reach the door and couldn’t get out of the toilet,” Counterman said.

The worker and the officer forced open the porta-potty door, only to be shocked by what they found: the restroom appeared to be completely empty.

“They looked inside and didn’t see anybody. The lid was closed. No one was in the restroom. It kind of startled them,” Counterman said.

The pair called the fire department, which used handheld saws to cut the porta-potty hostage out of the plastic toilet tank and then hosed him down with water from its fire truck.

The man told first responders he had been trying to retrieve a Mountain Dew bottle he had dropped inside the waste tank the night before, Counterman said.

If true, that would mean the nutjob was in the porta-potty tank for eight hours before he was liberated from the crappy situation.
