Mango clothing tycoon’s son named suspect in death of billionaire whose brand stretches across US

A newly released 911 call captures the son of a billionaire fashion tycoon in tears as he tells emergency dispatchers that his father had “fallen,” according to audio made public Monday.

“I need help, my father has fallen!” Jonathan Andic says in the recording, obtained by the Spanish newspaper El País. “We are in Collbató, he has fallen down a ravine, please send an ambulance, send someone,” the translated Spanish-language call states.

Jonathan Andic, son of late businessman Isak Andic, is heard telling the operator they were heading toward the Salnitre Caves. As the dispatcher continues asking questions, he says, “I don’t see him, he doesn’t answer.”

Isak Andic, 71, died in December 2024 after falling roughly 500 feet from a cliff while hiking with his son in the mountains near Barcelona. Jonathan Andic, 45, was the only witness to the incident. In May, authorities arrested him after announcing they were examining his father’s death as a possible homicide.

Jonathan Andic, the son of Mango founder Isak Andic, was photographed leaving Juzgado de Instrucción 5 in Martorell after posting €1 million bail on May 19, 2026, in Martorell, near Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. The Mossos d’Esquadra said he was arrested in connection with the Dec. 14, 2024 death of his father, who fell from a cliff near the Salnitre Caves in Collbató. The court in Martorell is overseeing the investigation, and Jonathan Andic was his father’s only companion on the day of the fatal fall.

According to Catalunya Ràdio, the emergency call is expected to be one of the key pieces of evidence presented by the defense.

“My father has fallen, I can’t see him, he doesn’t answer me, he has fallen down the ravine, I don’t know where he is,” Jonathan can reportedly be heard saying.

Jonathan, who took over the global fashion empire with his sisters after their dad’s death, was released on one million euros bail and ordered to surrender his passport while remaining in Spain during the investigation, Reuters reported.

The younger Andic has denied wrongdoing, and the family has maintained his innocence.

“There is no legitimate evidence against him, nor will any be found,” the Andic family said in a statement, according to Reuters.

The fatal fall was initially treated as an accident, but now authorities have launched a homicide investigation.
