A Brooklyn driver caused chaos over the weekend by colliding with two police vehicles and injuring an officer on foot during an attempted traffic stop, authorities reported.
The incident unfolded Saturday evening in Williamsburg, around 8 p.m., when police stopped the driver due to mismatched license plates and heavily tinted windows, according to law enforcement sources.
As officers approached the white 2018 Infiniti Q50S at the intersection of Wallabout Street and Broadway, the driver suddenly accelerated, crashing into two patrol cars, police stated.

In a desperate bid to escape, the suspect reversed and struck an officer’s leg who was standing beside one of the police cars, officials said.
Following the collision with the officer, the driver sped away down Wallabout Street, and the NYPD confirmed that the suspect remains at large.
While the driver had a female passenger in the vehicle, she is not being pursued by the police, authorities confirmed.

The officer that was backed into suffered a leg injury and some lower body bruising, authorities said.
The officer was taken by EMS to the Kings County Hospital Center, where he was listed in stable condition, according to sources.
The NYPD released a photo and video of the perp, asking anyone with info to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline: 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), log onto the Crime Stoppers website or message @NYPDTips on X.
