A peculiar video has surfaced from Maryland, depicting police officers grappling with a large man whose pants and underwear unexpectedly slip down during an arrest outside a church.
Captured on a cell phone, the footage reveals a towering figure, clad in a soiled T-shirt, dark pants, and sneakers, with disheveled dark hair and a beard, resisting several officers’ attempts to restrain him.
In a sudden twist, the man’s pants and underwear fall, exposing him from the waist down.
As the vehicle carrying the person filming the unusual encounter moves past, the partially unclothed individual is visible leaning against a police car while a female officer deploys a taser on him.
The incident is said to have taken place in Clarksburg, a suburb in Montgomery County, located northwest of Washington, D.C.
Observers were quick to draw parallels between the suspect and Hagrid, the giant character from the Harry Potter series, famously portrayed by the late Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane.
“Did the real life Hagrid just spawn?! Damn bro says not today,” one X user wrote.
“Which part of Harry Potter is that? Our guess it’s The Prisoner of Asskaban,” joked another.
The video is yet to be independently verified.
Montgomery County Police Department was approached for comment and said they would provide more information on the arrest.
