In an unsettling incident at a hotel in McHenry, Illinois, a man has been charged following an alleged unprovoked attack that left one individual stabbed and another assaulted. The altercation occurred at the Hampton Inn located on South Illinois Route 31, shortly after midnight on Saturday, as reported by local law enforcement.
According to the McHenry police, Colin M. Foster, a 28-year-old resident of McHenry, is accused of launching a sudden attack on a 48-year-old male guest, stabbing him multiple times with a knife. In the course of the incident, Foster also allegedly battered a 38-year-old man, though this victim did not suffer any knife-related injuries.

All three individuals were guests at the hotel; however, authorities have indicated that there appears to be no prior connection between Foster and the victims.
The man who was stabbed sustained serious injuries but they were thankfully not life-threatening. He was promptly transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville to receive medical attention.
Following the incident, Foster was taken into custody and faces serious charges, including one count of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm. He is currently being held at the McHenry County Jail as he awaits his upcoming court proceedings.
