A Texas mother accused of attacking her husband and their two young children with a knife was seen in a heated argument with her husband the day before the alleged stabbing, according to a report.
Holly Leeann Flores, 37, faces attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing her husband, Justin Hommel, 34, in the head and wounding their children—a 3-year-old girl and a 10-month-old baby—in the chest before dawn Tuesday, police said.
Investigators have not disclosed what prompted the attack. All three victims are expected to survive. A witness, however, told the Daily Mail that Flores and Hommel had a tense confrontation just hours before the incident.
“Yesterday I saw them arguing. I was out here working, I don’t know what the fight was about but I could see her pointing and waving her arms. She looked upset,” the witness, who was working on a nearby construction site, told the newspaper.
The witness said Hommel appeared to be listening while holding the baby as Flores shouted at him.
“I didn’t think much of it. All couples fight. Plus, she was so small compared to him,” the witness added.
Jail records list Flores as 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds.
Hommel called 911 at about 4:20 a.m. Tuesday and reported that his wife had stabbed him in the head at their home in Northlake, a town of roughly 5,000 residents located about 30 minutes north of Fort Worth.

During the emergency call, dispatchers could hear Hommel urgently attempting to reach the children in another room while Flores allegedly tried to stab him, Northlake Police Chief Robert Crawford said at a news conference.
When officers arrived, they found the 3-year-old girl and 10-month-old boy inside the home with stab wounds to their chests. Both children were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Flores was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted capital murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
She was treated for a “small cut on her chest area” that required stitches before being taken to jail.
Crawford said officers had responded to the family’s home about five times since March, with most of those calls involving welfare concerns.
“It’s very heartbreaking when we have to respond to a traumatic event such as this,” Crawford said.
Flores remains held at the Denton County jail. No bond had been set as of Wednesday afternoon.
