Brooks Nader recently opened up about her reliance on a GLP-1 weight loss drug, attributing it to her flourishing career despite her sisters’ concerns. In an interview, the 28-year-old model shared her thoughts on the drug, admitting to Bustle that she feels ‘addicted’ and knows she ‘should get off it’ but continues its use due to its impact on her professional life.

The model, known for her bold fashion choices, discussed how her career trajectory shifted after starting GLP-1. She candidly remarked, ‘The truth is, after I began taking GLP-1, my career really gained momentum. I’m not endorsing it as the right choice for everyone, but I did lose 30 pounds, and as a result, I landed numerous bookings.’

Brooks’ ascent in the modeling world began with her debut in Sports Illustrated in 2019, and by 2023, she graced its cover. Her rise was marked by this pivotal achievement, underscoring the significant impact of her weight loss on her career.

In her discussion with the publication, she also revealed her strategy for improvement when overlooked for modeling opportunities. She recounted, ‘Whenever I missed out on a job, I would ask my former agency to seek client feedback. The consistent response was the need to drop 30 pounds. I approached it pragmatically, without tears or self-pity, simply asking myself, “What steps can I take to meet their expectations?”’

While speaking with the outlet, she shared her process for course-correcting when she was looked over for gigs.

She explained: ‘If I didn’t get a job, I would say to [my old agency], “Can we get feedback from the client?” The direct feedback was I needed to lose 30 pounds. I didn’t shed one tear over it. I don’t feel bad for myself. I just say, “The facts are they want me to lose weight. How can I achieve that?”‘

Brooks previously got honest about her use of Ozempic in December 2024 after one of her younger sisters teased her about it on TikTok.

‘My sisters ratted me out on that, which they’re in huge trouble for, but yeah, I did [use it],’ the former Dancing With the Stars competitor told DailyMail.com last year.

‘I tried it out when it first came out, and I liked it, I can’t lie,’ she confessed at the time.

The subject also came up as Brooks confronted her struggles with body image on the siblings’ Freeform series, Love Thy Nader.

Her siblings were concerned over her health during the seventh episode of the series after she admitted to taking GLP-1s after nearly passing out during an exercise class as she blamed the medication for her symptoms.

Her sister Mary Holland said in the episode: ‘Just seeing all of the needles piled up in one place makes me realize the gravity of how deep she’s gone in it. This is different doctors, clearly. This is different pharmacies.

‘That’s dangerous. She’s overprescribed. This amount is so concerning.’

Elsewhere on the reality show, Brooks commented on her use of the medication as she said:  ‘I typically micro-dose GLP-1, this weight loss drug. But now, since I have Maxim coming up, and I’m probably gonna be half-naked, I’m upping my dose a little because I want to be extra snatched.’

The beauty shared what surprised her the most about opening up about her ‘crutch’ on the series.

She told Bustle: ‘The thing that I was so shocked about with the show was that I had so many people reach out to me saying, “I’m also addicted to GLP-1. I’m ashamed to talk about it because there’s such a stigma around it. It’s a crutch for me.”

‘I’m still on it. It’s a crutch for me, too. It’s not healthy. I should get off it; I’ll be honest about that.’

And the influencer listed the cosmetic procedures she’s undergone: veneers, a nose job, injectable salmon sperm facials and a Botox neck lift.

Before opening up to Bustle about her dependency on the GLP-1 drug, which originally was used to treat diabetes patients, Brooks said she was taking a pause from the prescription.

The break was a result of her performing on Dancing With The Stars in 2024.

‘It was so taxing on your physical body and everything, and it makes you so tired, fatigued, so I kind of had to take a little hiatus from it,’ she told DailyMail in December.

However, the Dolce & Gabbana model said going back on it wasn’t out of the question.

‘I mean, never say never… [but] as of right now, no,’ she said.

‘[If I] keep staying healthy and working out, hopefully I won’t have to,’ she added.
