A Bronx man has been arrested after allegedly climbing through the bedroom window of a sleeping 8-year-old girl and exposing himself to her nearly two months ago, police said.
Tishawn Maile, 35, who police said did not know the child, was taken into custody by members of the NYPD’s Neighborhood Safety Team around 11 p.m. Friday in connection with the May 25 incident. He now faces multiple charges, according to authorities.
The girl was asleep in a bedroom she shared with her 11-year-old and 6-year-old siblings near De Reimer and Bussing avenues around 5:10 a.m. when Maile allegedly entered the home through a window, police and a criminal complaint said.
Once inside, Maile allegedly exposed himself and placed his penis on the child’s foot, according to the court document.
The alleged intruder, who lives nearly two miles from the girl’s home, then fled back out through the same window, the complaint said.
The girl and her siblings were not physically injured during the frightening home invasion.
Maile was charged with sexually motivated burglary, burglary, sexual abuse, criminal trespass, endangering the welfare of a child and sexual abuse, prosecutors said.
He pleaded not guilty at his Sunday arraignment and was ordered held on $50,000 bail or $150,000 bond, as requested by the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, a spokesman said.
He has three previous arrests, all in the Bronx – the most recent for criminal possession of a weapon from July of 2023, and earlier brushes with the law for burglary in 2016, and assault in 2009, police said.
He is due back in court for the newest arrest on Thursday.
