PHILADELPHIA — The content creator at the center of a cheesesteak assault at a Philadelphia restaurant turned himself in to police Thursday.
Charges remain pending after Wednesday evening’s incident at the renowned Pat’s King of Steaks in South Philadelphia.
Police are examining video that appears to show a confrontation in which a man allegedly threw a cheesesteak at a restaurant employee.
The creator reportedly said he reviews restaurants and throws food at employees when he dislikes it.

Authorities have not released the man’s identity.
“The phone hasn’t stopped ringing. People were coming and saying how sorry they were that somebody would do that to us,” said Rita Marie Oliveri, owner of Pat’s King of Steaks.
Oliveri said the restaurant, which has operated for nearly 97 years, has received an outpouring of support from customers and members of the community since the incident.

“They’re going to get this guy. They’re going to get him. Because that’s an assault,” Oliveri said.
People visiting the restaurant also shared their reactions after watching the video.
“It’s horrible. Maybe wanted to get clicks, you know,” said Bob Baylinson of Fort Lauderdale.
The confrontation prompted a show of support from Pat’s longtime rival, Geno’s Steaks. Although the two South Philadelphia cheesesteak shops are known for their fierce competition, Geno’s representatives expressed solidarity with the employee involved.
“In solidarity as people who get up and go to work every morning. I feel that, I wouldn’t want it to happen to me. That’s somebody’s grandfather. They don’t deserve that,” said Anthony Rossi of Geno’s.
The investigation is continuing. Pat’s King of Steaks also plans to ban cameras inside the restaurant.
