Philadelphia authorities continue their hunt for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting that occurred in February, releasing surveillance footage on Monday with the aim of identifying the gunman.

The newly unveiled video captures the victim’s vehicle coming to a halt on Upland Street. Shortly thereafter, the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, and another individual exit the car, leading to a physical altercation in southwest Philadelphia on Thursday, February 26. During this confrontation, a single fatal shot was reportedly fired into the victim’s abdomen.

Philadelphia Police Department Chief Inspector Scott Small stated in February, as reported by Fox 29 Philadelphia, “The vehicle is registered to the 40-year-old shooting victim, so it is his vehicle. We don’t know the circumstances surrounding his being shot.”

The footage depicts a man in a white or light-colored shirt assaulting an individual in a darker shirt or jacket, who is lying on the ground near the vehicle. Additional video shows the man in the dark clothing fleeing the scene.

Police are searching for the alleged shooter, hoping the video helps identify their suspect, according to the local station.

Officers had responded to the scene following reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim in the driver’s seat of his vehicle suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.
