A life-changing Powerball fortune has landed in New Jersey.
A ticket sold in the Garden State matched all six numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing, claiming the estimated $847 million jackpot and ending a two-month stretch without a top-prize winner.
The winning combination was 15, 34, 41, 53, 56 and the red Powerball 21.
The winner, whose identity has not been disclosed, may take the full annuity estimated at $847 million or opt for a one-time cash payment of $363.1 million.
The prize ranks as the ninth-largest jackpot in Powerball history. It surpasses the $768.4 million jackpot won by 24-year-old Manuel Franco at a gas station outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on March 27, 2019.
Wednesday’s jackpot was the first to be won since Aug. 12, when an Illinois ticket matched the numbers for a $1.04 billion prize.

That winner, who chose to remain anonymous, accepted the lump-sum payout of $450.5 million.
The Illinois player spent just $2 on a Quick Pick ticket purchased at the Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh convenience store in Quincy, Illinois.
The New Jersey win represents the ninth time Powerball’s jackpot has been claimed in 2026.
The billion-dollar Illinois drawing in August remains the year’s biggest Powerball win and ranks eighth among the largest jackpots ever awarded.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are approximately 1 in 292,201,338.
