Prince William provides a rare update on his wife, Kate Middleton, after her recent battle with cancer in an upcoming episode of Eugene Levy’s “The Reluctant Traveler.”
While in conversation with the “Schitt’s Creek” alum, William confirms his wife is currently cancer-free, telling him, “It’s great news,” per People.
When asked how his father, King Charles, is doing amid his respective cancer diagnosis, William shares that “things are good.”
“Everything is progressing in the right way, which is all good news,” he adds.
William, 43, shares the impact of his wife’s cancer diagnosis on him and their family in the Apple TV+ episode, which premieres Friday, stating, “You maybe think to yourself, ‘It won’t happen to us, we’ll be OK.”
“Because I think everyone has a positive outlook, you’ve got to be positive. But when it does happen to you, then it takes you into some pretty not great places,” William explains.
In the most recent update on the king’s health, Charles shares he was “not [doing] too bad.”
In September 2024, Middleton completed her chemotherapy treatment, and by the following January, she announced she was in remission in a lengthy statement.
“I remain focused on recovery,” she wrote at the time. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust.”
Since then, Middleton has gradually returned to her royal duties. In June, she attended the annual Trooping the Colour and the UK state banquet last month.
Though, she pulled out of her appearance at the Royal Ascot as she continues to “find the right balance” with her royal responsibilities.
Elsewhere in the episode, William reflected on his wife’s cancer battle, calling the experience the “hardest year I’ve ever had.”
“You know, life is sent to test us as well and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are,” he continued.
