Rachel Danis, Patrick Clancy’s new wife, said she first met the grieving father while jogging in Central Park—a chance encounter that eventually drew her into the public spotlight as his former wife faced a nationally watched murder trial.
Danis, a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist who married Clancy in April, recounted their first meeting while sitting alongside him during his first interview since Lindsay Clancy’s trial ended in a hung jury earlier this month.
“I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday,” Danis said, pushing back against criticism of their relationship from online trolls and influencers.
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that,” she added in a preview of the couple’s upcoming 60 Minutes interview, which is scheduled to air in full Sunday evening.
Clancy moved to Manhattan after discovering that his three young children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan—had been strangled at the family’s Massachusetts home in January 2023. His former wife was accused in the children’s deaths.
He later crossed paths with Danis, 37, who works at a New York City reproductive health clinic as a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist.
Social media posts have documented the couple’s relationship, from attending the same Barry’s workout class to smiling together at the New York City Marathon in November 2025.
The pair married in an intimate ceremony at Central Park’s Ladies Pavilion before celebrating with family and friends at the nearby Sarabeth’s restaurant.
