Harrowing photos taken by cops show one of the women with her feet tied together while the other lies unconscious.

Chilling footage showed cops approaching the house of horrors – before making the grim discovery.

Filthy mattresses surrounded by human faeces and rubbish can be seen in sickening pictures.

Both the women, 36 and 38, are shockingly thin and said to be suffering from severe malnutrition and dehydration.

The sisters were rescued in a police raid on May 5 after a horrified neighbour raised the alarm.

The pair are currently recovering in hospital.

Police believe that their dad began raping them when their mum left the house for a hospital appointment one year ago and never came back.

One neighbour said: “I always suspected something was wrong, but we never imagined it was this horrific.”

The father was taken to the Women’s Defence Police Station in the city, where he faced charges of domestic violence, mistreatment, psychological abuse, and illegal confinement.

He could also face rape charges once his daughters have been medically examined for signs of sexual abuse.

He reportedly told police he had tied up his daughters to “stop them falling out of their beds”.

He has been nicknamed “Brazil’s Fritzl” in reference to Josef Fritzl, who is serving a life sentence for holding seven children in his basement, having raped and imprisoned his own daughter, Elisabeth, over a span of 24 years.

In April, the attorney for Fritzl, Astrid Wagner, disclosed that Fritzl believes Donald Trump’s hand gestures during various televised press conferences are secret signals intended solely for him to decipher.

This comes after Brazilian cops uncovered a horrifying ordeal in the small town of Novo Oriente in October.

A 52-year-old dad was arrested after allegedly keeping his wife and seven children captive and raping them repeatedly.

Who is Josef Fritzl

In 1984, Josef Fritzl lured his 18-year-old daughter Elisabeth into his cellar where he drugged and raped her repeatedly.

After telling his own wife, Rosemarie, that Elisabeth had run away and joined a cult, Fritzl managed to keep his daughter prisoner in the soundproof basement for 24 years.

Josef fathered seven children with his own child in the small cellar where he installed cramped living quarters including a kitchen and bathroom.

While one of the children died shortly after birth, and was incinerated by Fritzl, three were brought upstairs to live with him and his wife Rosemarie

Fritzl told his wife the children belonged to Elisabeth, and had been left on their doorstep as she was unable to care for them.

The three remaining children were kept in the windowless cellar –aged five to 19 when released – and would first see sunlight in 2008.

Fritzl’s crimes were uncovered when the oldest cellar child, a 19-year-old girl, became seriously ill.

In March 2009, Fritzl was jailed for life after pleading guilty to murder by negligence over the death of the baby he cremated.

The other charges included enslavement, incest, rape, coercion and false imprisonment.

Authorities were alerted after one of the man’s daughters, in a desperate bid for freedom, drugged him with sleeping pills and managed to escape.

She reported the alleged abuse to police, who conducted a month-long investigation before storming the property.

Police uncovered three buried foetuses in the garden, with one nearly full-term at eight months old.

The man’s wife, reportedly 40, claims that she has endured this nightmare since she was just 17.

Allegedly forced to undergo three abortions, she said she had no choice but to live in fear.

Investigators discovered that one of the daughters also survived a harrowing failed abortion when her six-month-old foetus was rescued by a midwife.

Domestic abuse – how to get help

DOMESTIC abuse can affect anyone – including men – and does not always involve physical violence.

Here are some signs that you could be in an abusive relationship:

  • Emotional abuse – Including being belittled, blamed for the abuse – gaslighting – being isolated from family and friends, having no control over your finances, what you where and who you speak to
  • Threats and intimidation – Some partners might threaten to kill or hurt you, destroy your belongings, stalk or harass you
  • Physical abuse – This can range from slapping or hitting to being shoved over, choked or bitten.
  • Sexual abuse – Being touched in a way you do not want to be touched, hurt during sex, pressured into sex or forced to have sex when you do not consent.

If any of the above apply to you or a friend, you can call these numbers:

Remember, you are not alone.

1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic abuse over the course of their lifetime.

Every 30 seconds the police receive a call for help relating to domestic abuse.

Despite the child’s poor health, the father allegedly refused any medical help.

Seven children, aged three to 22, were rescued, and the investigation revealed further horrors.

Police say the suspect had sexually abused not only his daughters but also his late mother-in-law.

He also reportedly drilled holes in the walls to spy on his daughters as they dressed and bathed.
