State Department confirms Foreign Service Officer is suspect in Virginia 'road rage' mass stabbing

The tragic aftermath of a highway road rage incident on Sunday has left a community in shock, after a woman and a dog were fatally wounded, and several other women injured. This unsettling event unfolded in Fairfax County, Virginia, and involved a Foreign Service Officer, according to confirmation from the State Department to Fox News Digital.

“We are aware of the tragic incident that involved a Foreign Service Officer and occurred on Sunday, March 1, in Fairfax County, Virginia,” a spokesperson from the State Department stated, extending heartfelt condolences to those affected by this grievous event. However, the spokesperson refrained from divulging further details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation led by the Virginia State Police.

The Virginia State Police released a statement identifying 32-year-old Jared Llamado from McLean as the suspect. Llamado is alleged to have brutally stabbed four women: Michelle Adams, 39; Dana Bonnell, 36; Mary C. Flood, 37; and Heather Miller, 40. Tragically, Adams succumbed to her injuries, and a dog also lost its life in the incident. This violent altercation took place on the southbound lanes of I-495 at approximately 1:20 p.m., a mere half-hour’s drive from Washington, D.C.

Authorities have clarified that this stabbing incident, which followed a vehicular crash, is not being viewed as related to terrorism. The suspect, Jared Llamado, is under investigation, with further details awaited as the Virginia State Police continue their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding this shocking event.
