The sister of murdered New Jersey therapist Brooke Hanlon says her family is living through “a complete nightmare” after the young mother was discovered fatally stabbed inside her home in an upscale Morris County community.
Speaking exclusively with our News Agency one month after the deadly attack, Hanlon’s sister described the family’s grief as investigators continue working to identify a suspect.
Hanlon, a 35-year-old new mother, was found dead inside her Chester residence on June 6. Authorities have not publicly named a suspect in the homicide.
“Brooke was the sweetest, purest person that I have ever known in my entire life,” said Paige Haggerty, Hanlon’s sister. “Everything that I know, I have learned from her. I’ve never lived without her. She taught me everything.”

Hanlon’s murder has rocked the Chester community and devastated her family.
Haggerty said, “It’s unimaginable. It’s a complete nightmare. To lose a sibling is the last thing you would expect. I went through life with my sister in every phase of my life so far. I don’t know a life without her. So, trying to adjust to that is pretty impossible.”
