'Dancing with the Stars' week 7: Halloween night scares up shocking injury and another emotional elimination

The atmosphere in the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom was chilling on Halloween night, and not just for the couple that got the boot. In its seventh week, the beloved reality show embraced a Halloween theme, adding a spooky twist to the competition.

All nine remaining pairs took to the floor, delivering eerie performances across various dance styles. The night also featured a special twist: couples returned to the floor to compete in a “monster-thon,” a dance marathon with a ghoulish twist to earn extra points.

Drama unfolded when it was revealed that actress Elaine Hendrix suffered an injury during rehearsals earlier in the day. She described the sensation as if a muscle had twisted beneath her ribs and was subsequently taken out of the ballroom on a stretcher.

Due to her condition, Hendrix was transported to the hospital and wasn’t cleared to dance on Tuesday. However, the judges evaluated the couple’s last recorded rehearsal, allowing fans to catch a glimpse of their performance in an empty ballroom, sans costumes.

Doctors indicated that should Hendrix recover, she could return the following week. It was evident that her fans rallied behind her during this ordeal.

Ultimately, it was “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” actress Jen Affleck and her dance partner Jan Ravnik who bid farewell to the competition on this haunting Halloween night.

After the show, Affleck told Eyewitness News, “I just feel grateful, I gave it my all. I showed up and tried here and at home, being a mom, juggling, it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”

Here’s a look at the judge’s scoreboard, from both individual and marathon dances:

  • Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy lead the pack this week with a total of 43 points
  • Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas got 42 points
  • Robert Irwin and Witney Carson earned 41 points
  • Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach got 38 points
  • Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa also earned 38 points
  • Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov got 35 points
  • Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten earned 32 points
  • And bringing up the rear, Andy Richter and Emma Slater with 29 points

Next week’s show will be a tribute to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
