Square Roots Festival 2025: Live music festival returns to Lincoln Square, Chicago with bands, craft beers and family fun

CHICAGO (WLS) — The Square Roots festival is set to return from July 11 to July 13, bringing together over 40,000 visitors in Lincoln Square for a celebration featuring music, craft beer, local cuisine, and community vibes.

This three-day street festival showcases more than 50 musical performances, a craft beer display, international foods, and family-friendly activities. Headlining the event are artists like Calexico, Mekons, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Alejandro Escovedo, Heartless Bastards, and The Lone Bellow, alongside a variety of emerging and local talents performing on four stages.

Square Roots is a must-visit for craft beer enthusiasts, offering selections from breweries such as Dovetail, Half Acre, and Tip Top Proper Cocktails, as well as the exclusive Square Roots Hopfenlager beer. Attendees can enjoy a wide range of culinary delights from local restaurants and food vendors, including bao buns, brisket mac and cheese, wood-fired pizza, and chocolate s’mores brownies.

The festival is a true neighborhood collaboration, bringing together small businesses, regional partners, artists, and volunteers to support year-round economic and cultural vitality. All proceeds benefit community programs run by the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce and Old Town School of Folk Music, including music scholarships, business education, and public art initiatives.
