A Jacksonville man has been apprehended following a gruesome triple stabbing incident that claimed the lives of two men and a woman. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office made the announcement on Friday.

Authorities identified the suspect as 30-year-old Austin Fisher, who was captured on Thursday after an intense standoff involving the SWAT team and the Sheriff’s Community Problem Response Unit. As per jail records, Fisher is now facing three counts of second-degree murder along with one charge of armed robbery related to the stabbing.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that Fisher was discovered hiding in a motel located in the Normandy Village area, leading to his arrest.

The series of events unfolded around 3 a.m. Thursday when a concerned neighbor on Exodus Way dialed 911, reporting that a man was persistently knocking on his front door.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 49-year-old Edwin Barber suffering from a stab wound to his chest, lying on the front porch of a residence.
