TUCSON, Ariz. — On Friday night, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT team was active in a Tucson neighborhood, focusing their efforts on a case involving Nancy Guthrie.

A convoy of sheriff and FBI vehicles, including forensic units, navigated through a roadblock located approximately two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s residence. This development was shared by Pima County officials on social media platform X, who noted that no press briefing would occur that night but assured that a written statement would follow.

Nancy Guthrie, who is 84 years old, was last seen on Saturday, January 31. According to local sheriff officials and the FBI, it is believed she was forcibly taken from her home in southern Arizona sometime during the night leading into Sunday.

Earlier this week, authorities released newly obtained images and video footage depicting an armed individual allegedly tampering with the security camera at Nancy Guthrie’s residence on the morning she vanished.

FBI Director Kash Patel, via posts on X, shared four images revealing a large figure equipped with a backpack, ski mask, gloves, and a zip-up jacket. A weapon appears to be tucked into the waistband of the individual.

In a series of videos released a few minutes later, the person is seen putting their hand in front of the camera, before grabbing some kind of plant from the front yard and sticking it in front of the lens to block it. 

The FBI has launched a new webpage about Guthrie’s disappearance, featuring photos and videos from the case.
