Things Heating Up: LA Mayor Bass Calls a Curfew, Anti-ICE Actions in Multiple Cities

Mayor Karen Bass has taken a positive step and in doing so, acknowledged an issue she’s previously been reluctant to face. She has announced a local emergency and implemented a curfew in downtown Los Angeles.

Bass should have implemented this measure by Saturday night instead of delaying action. She has admitted that over twenty businesses have been vandalized, with extensive graffiti causing significant harm to both businesses and properties. She cautioned that individuals violating the curfew will face arrest. Additionally, she mentioned that law enforcement officers from throughout the state are collaborating with the LAPD.

I wonder if that may mean that they just go outside of the LAPD area, but at least that’s something.

There were also actions in other cities.

There was a huge group in Chicago.

Warning for graphic language in the following videos:

A car tried to move through the street that was blocked by the anti-ICE crowd.

There was a big protest in Boston and a smaller group in Denver.

In New York, things got crazy as the anti-ICE crew blocked the streets for hours.

They tried to stop an ICE van, which did not go well.

Finally, the police had to come in and charge them to get them out of the streets, and some were arrested.

Looks like some were going to “find out” that wasn’t a great move, and there’s going to be a lot of unrest this evening.
