Texas elementary school teacher accused of sexually assaulting child as police search for more victims

An elementary school teacher from San Antonio, Texas, has been arrested and faces charges of continuous sexual assault of a child.

According to a Facebook announcement by authorities on Tuesday, 46-year-old Cecilia Mueller was detained on Monday following an investigation into the allegations.

Police have expressed concerns about the possibility of additional victims and are encouraging anyone with relevant information to step forward.

The arrest report details that a 20-year-old man informed authorities that he was a student in Mueller’s fifth-grade class at Lewis Elementary School during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Throughout that school year, the student reported becoming one of Mueller’s “favorites,” engaging in discussions about crushes and other inappropriate subjects. It was alleged that select students would join her for lunch in the classroom, where she reportedly showed them explicit music videos, and on one occasion, a pornographic video. Additionally, they allegedly played Truth or Dare, with dares sometimes involving students kissing each other.

He also said she instructed the students not to tell their parents, warning she could get into serious trouble.

The unnamed victim alleged his former teacher also kissed him in a closet in her classroom and engaged in other sexual acts. He said the abuse ended after the school year, when she reportedly told him not to tell anyone about what they did and to contact her when he turned 18, adding that it would “ruin him,” according to the arrest report.

Mueller worked in the Northside Independent School District (NISD), teaching at Lewis Elementary School until June 2019 before transferring to Henderson Elementary School in August 2019, where she has taught since.
