Guerrero, along with five other prominent leaders and members of the Tren de Aragua group, have been targeted by these sanctions.

This group, Tren de Aragua, which was identified by the State Department on February 20 as a foreign terrorist organization, originated in Venezuela and consists of thousands of members.

Hector Guerrero, aged 42, is acknowledged for expanding Tren de Aragua from a prison-based gang focused on extortion and bribery into a significant organization that poses a threat to public safety throughout the Western Hemisphere.

In addition to the sanctions, the Treasury Department is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to Guerrero’s arrest and conviction.
