Theo Von breaks silence after Joe Rogan expresses suicide concerns

Theo Von is dismissing any concerns Joe Rogan raised about his mental well-being and alleged suicidal thoughts.

The comedian addressed these issues after Rogan highlighted them on an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Rogan expressed unease over Von’s recent actions, including remarks about suicide and his use of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs).

“This is mostly cap. Sad to see this kinda stuff,” Von replied to the comments. “I’m doing great. I’m a human being, which is a rocky ride. But I’m doing fine, thanks.”

Rogan, who has a longstanding friendship and collaboration with Von, mentioned on his podcast that certain behaviors from Von since he began taking SSRIs “freaks me out,” particularly those involving suicidal comments.

The podcast host pointed out that Von has previously spoken about suicide openly, including in public forums.

Rogan also referenced a Netflix special taping with Von, which he suggested “didn’t go well… they never used it.”

According to Rogan, he heard Von “bombed” during the performance and at one point told the audience, “I’m trying not to take my own life.”

The podcast host added that Von has experienced periods where he spirals into discussions about “world events.”

Rogan also questioned the idea of chemical imbalances tied to mental health, saying, “Here is the thing about that chemical imbalance thing, that’s not real.”

He went on to allege SSRIs simply “numb people.”

Von and Rogan have maintained a close friendship for years through the comedy and podcast worlds.

Von has appeared on multiple episodes of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” often joining Rogan for lengthy conversations covering personal stories, current events and comedy material.

Rogan has previously spoken publicly about concern for Von during difficult periods, including discussions surrounding anxiety, mental health struggles and the pressures tied to stand-up comedy.
