The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of the victim as Jervas Williams.
In Jacksonville, Florida, a 17-year-old has been apprehended on suspicion of fatally stabbing his father on the city’s Westside. The tragic incident occurred Tuesday night, and the arrest was made early Wednesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that officers were dispatched to a residence on Wheeler Avenue, near Blanding Boulevard, shortly before 7 p.m. following a report of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the teen’s father, Jervas Williams, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Sgt. Dishman of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated that personnel from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department promptly arrived on the scene but sadly declared Williams dead at the location.
The Sheriff’s Office indicated that the victim’s son was “swiftly identified” as the suspect. This conclusion was reached after detectives examined the evidence and conducted interviews with several individuals present during the incident. The teenager now faces charges of second-degree murder.
