YouTube sensation Adam “the Woo” Williams has tragically passed away at his residence in Florida at the age of 51, according to reports.
The body of the internet star, who had over 1.1 million subscribers between his TheDailyWoo and adamthewoo accounts, was discovered at his Celebration, Fla. residence Monday at 2:53 p.m., during a call for unattended death, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to the Daily News. TMZ was first to report the news.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office initially visited Williams’ “secured” home around 12:24 p.m. for a welfare check but was unable to make contact with him.
Authorities returned after a concerned friend, using a borrowed ladder, peered into the third-story window and observed Williams motionless on his bed. The friend had seen him just the day before.
Williams was pronounced dead at the scene, with the exact cause of death to be determined following an autopsy. His father, who resides nearby, has been informed of the passing.
Fellow YouTuber Justin Scarred expressed his heartache on Facebook, stating the news “breaks my heart.”
“The world has lost a giant, and I have lost a friend closer to me than blood. We lost Adam. I loved this man with my whole heart, and I don’t know what to do or what to say,” Scarred wrote. “Please pray for his parents, Jim and June, and his sister, Faith. He was cherished by many close friends and knew he was loved.”
Scarred remembered Williams as “a wonderful person, a true friend to me whenever I needed him” and said he “genuinely [doesn’t] know what to do without him.”
Williams’ friend Chris Yon, who spent time with him last week, said on Instagram that he was “absolutely devastated to hear of the sudden passing of my good friend Adam The Woo.”
Yon, who is “in complete shock,” said that Williams had expressed “excitement for upcoming plans on his YouTube channel” and a game they planned to attend next year.
