A body discovered in Turks and Caicos more than a week ago has been confirmed to be that of an American man who disappeared while vacationing in the tropical locale.

Brian Tarrence, 51, from Monroe, New York, went missing on June 25 while on a trip with his wife to the Turks and Caicos Islands, according to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force. Tarrence was last observed leaving his condominium at around 3:30 a.m. at the Paradise Inn in Grace Bay, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos.

In a press release, the island’s police force confirmed Tarrence’s identity following the conclusion of a forensic dental analysis.
