UnitedHealthcare fires worker Alison King for Trump assassination attempt comment

UnitedHealthcare Employee Dismissed Over Controversial Comment About Trump

A woman employed by UnitedHealthcare has been terminated following a TikTok post in which she expressed disappointment that President Donald Trump was not harmed during an incident at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday.

In the video, she quipped, “Aww, they missed?” with a tone of sarcasm.

Alison King, who has since removed her LinkedIn profile and was reportedly working as a social media manager at UnitedHealthcare, commented in the video, “We’re doomed as a nation when my initial thought upon hearing about the supposed attempt on Trump was, ‘It’s likely staged.’”

King continued, “Immediately, my mind went to, ‘Oh, that wasn’t real, probably fake,’ and then to, ‘Aww, they missed? So relieved they missed.’ It’s quite depressing, isn’t it?” she remarked with sarcasm.

She concluded by saying, “That’s when you know we’re doomed.”

In a statement issued to Fox News Digital on Tuesday, a UnitedHealthcare representative stated, “We do not condone violence, and any remarks that imply otherwise do not align with our principles and values. The individual who commented online about the event on Saturday night, where President Trump and other political figures were present, is no longer with our organization.”

Fox News Digital reached out to King, but she declined to comment.

The suspected shooter, Cole Tomas Allen, was arrested Saturday night after authorities said he opened fire at the Washington Hilton Hotel during the dinner, which Trump was attending for the first time as president.

Allen is facing life in prison.

Fox News Digital reported Allen wanted to target Trump administration officials in his foiled attack, according to law enforcement sources.

On Dec. 4, 2024, Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was shot to death in Midtown Manhattan in New York City.

Suspected shooter Luigi Mangione will return to state court May 18 for a ruling on motions to suppress evidence and statements from his Altoona, Pennsylvania arrest.
