The Need to Sometimes Quietly Walk Away

When to Quietly Walk Away—and Why It Can Save Your Peace

Most of us know what it feels like to have a once-close relationship slowly come apart because life pushed something else into the center of the picture — a new job, a new romance, or some other outside change. The loss can sting deeply, even when no one meant for it to happen.

At times, the healthiest response is simply to step back without turning the moment into a scene. If someone no longer makes room for you, that may be all the answer you need. As adults, we can recognize the signal, absorb the pain, let them go in peace, and bring our hurt to the Lord for comfort.

I explore that experience, along with several other reflections, in the latest episode of my Cephas Hour podcast. Since much of the music featured in this installment is not available on the major streaming platforms, I am not providing song links. The episode is available on demand through the podcast’s website or through your preferred podcast app, with the exception of Spotify.
