DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — On Monday night, the numbers were drawn for a predicted $1.1 billion Powerball jackpot, but it’s uncertain whether there was a major winner.

The numbers drawn were 8, 23, 25, 40, 53, with the Powerball 5.

No player has hit all six numbers since May 31, allowing the jackpot to reach $1.1 billion, marking it as the fifth-largest in Powerball history. As ticket sales surged this week, officials updated Monday night’s jackpot estimate to $1.1 billion before taxes. Winners can opt for annual payments over 30 years or a one-time cash payout of $498.4 million before taxes.

The chance of hitting all six numbers is incredibly slim, at 1 in 292.2 million, with better odds of getting struck by lightning. However, with countless hopefuls chasing the dream of enormous wealth, eventually, someone will hit the jackpot.

Powerball tickets, priced at $2 each, are available in 45 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night.
