Long-time pals Johnny Depp & Al Pacino reunite for new movie premiere

On a star-studded Tuesday evening in Beverly Hills, long-time friends Johnny Depp and Al Pacino came together for the premiere of their latest film.

The duo was all smiles as they posed for photographs at the launch of “Modi: Three Days On The Wing Of Madness,” held at the Writers Guild Theater.

Both actors chose classic black ensembles for the event, with Depp sporting a double-breasted suit jacket paired with matching trousers.

Pacino complemented the look with a shirt and trousers, adding a sophisticated touch with a floor-length coat, dark sunglasses, and suede loafers.

In a heartwarming moment, the legendary actor wrapped an arm around his dear friend as they faced the cameras before entering the screening.

Their friendship, which has endured for decades, began when they collaborated on the 1997 mob drama “Donnie Brasco.”

Johnny played an undercover FBI agent in the classic with Al portraying a mobland boss as authorities attempted to bring the crime network down.

They were also cast in 2011 Adam Sandler hit Jack and Jill as well as 2016’s Hell’s Club Part 2. Another Night.

Since co-starring in Donnie Brasco, they’ve maintained a close friendship and have regularly been spotted catching up together in public.

Now, the pair have teamed up once again as Johnny hops back into the director’s seat for his new film.

Al produced the feature movie, which is based on Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani.

It follows the bohemian artist as he attempts to find a home for his artist, while dodging bombs, policemen and lovers.

Pirates Of The Caribbean star Johnny previously told the late Larry King in an interview about their time on set together.

He said: ‘As a person, I just loved him. I loved being with him because he made me laugh every day I was there.

‘He’s really nuts, too. He’ll say I’m nuts, but he’s really nuts.’

Last year Al gushed about his friendship with the ‘wild’ and ‘wonderful’ Johnny during an interview.

He told PEOPLE ahead of their new movie’s release: ‘He is a wild fella and he is very creative, and it was fun to work with him. It really was.

‘I’m working with Johnny again, and Johnny and I get together sometimes. And Johnny and I, he would just say, “Here we are. A couple of toddlers”. He’s wild. He’s wonderful.’

Al added that he considers their bond ‘real’ despite not getting to see each other regularly.

He explained: ‘I have a few people like that that I can say “they’re my friends”. And the sad part about life, getting older, is losing them.

‘What’s tough when I go to New York … I’m feeling funny because I know so-and-so lived over there, down the street … and so-and-so was there.’

Al concluded: ‘And that’s what made my life and my relationship to the city, those people, it’s all about people. And they’re not there anymore. So it’s weird. It feels as though you’re being dropped in this lonely planet.”

In 2023 Johnny and Al were pictured together in Paris for a reunion to mark the 25th anniversary of Donnie Brasco.
