These travelers were anything but calm at the carry-on stage.
A disturbance broke out at a Mexican airport on Wednesday after a group of passengers, reportedly appearing intoxicated, were removed from an Aeroméxico flight and allegedly turned their anger toward customer service staff.
Video of the incident shows several unidentified passengers confronting employees inside Terminal 2 at Mexico City International Airport, according to The US Sun.
In the footage, one passenger is seen pushing past queue-control barriers before grabbing a stanchion pole and throwing it into the air.
Another person appeared to move behind the customer service counter before tossing what seemed to be a plastic water bottle across the terminal.
At one stage, an employee tried to subdue a member of the group in a bear hug as the passenger appeared to wield the metal pole like a weapon.
The confrontation reportedly began after witnesses saw the group, who appeared to be drunk, being removed from the Aeroméxico aircraft, the outlet said.
Airline personnel reportedly escorted the travelers off the plane after one passenger allegedly damaged the aircraft before takeoff. The group is believed to be members of the same family.
Several security staff and innocent bystanders were seen throughout the footage trying to diffuse the melee while others at the airport were simply stunned by the action.
Following the melee, the airport confirmed in a statement on X that it “requested the intervention of the competent authority, who brought the involved individuals before the civic court.”
“The above [was done] in order to preserve order and avoid greater impacts on other users and facilities,” the statement added.
The Mexico City Airport and Aeroméxico did not immediately reply to The Post’s requests for comments.
