Michelle M. Odinet is a Lafayette City Court judge, who recently used racist language.
Actually, there is a Twitter video or a home security footage that recorded her using the n-word which is actually a contemptuous term for a black or dark-skinned person. And, the said video went instantly viral.
We can also find the judge and her whole family openly using the word nigger and can be heard saying that there is a nigger on their property. Afterward, they compared it to a roach.
Following the publicization of this video, people demanded her to permanently resign from her post with the reasoning that this level of hate & racial bias should not be available in the courtrooms. They began fearing that such a person with deep racism hatred has people’s lives in her hands on a daily basis.
On the other hand, Judge Michelle made an apology to almost everyone she offended. And, at the same time, she even defended herself stating that she was given a sedative that resulted in her saying such hurtful, disturbing, and inconsiderate terms.
Furthermore, Odinet also explained that she had not even the slightest memory of the episode and video made.
